New Feature! Auto Reboot + Timing Update

Discover how this device prevents stove cooking fires

At FireAvert we are constantly making changes and improvements to our PRO system. We have some exciting announcements and future updates to share!

New features include:

  • Auto Reboot Feature
  • AI Risk Assessments
  • Cooking Time Management
  • PRO Alert Customization

New Auto Reboot Feature

The FireAvert PRO dashboard has always tracked when the fire alarm triggered one of our devices, 'Shutoff Events'. Now, our V5 models will try to automatically reboot, and if it can determine there is no fire risk, it will turn the stove back on.

This seems a bit risky until we understand the details. Let's clear up a few things first:

No, this will not let gas stoves leak gas.

No, this won't turn heat back on to a recently extinguished fire.

And lastly, no, this won't reboot only to be shutoff again by a still sounding smoke alarm.

So how does this new feature work?

  • Every 2.5 minutes FireAvert will check two things:
    1) If the alarm is still sounding (that's what shut the stove off in the first place)
    2) If the stove knob has been turned to the off position
  • FireAvert will tun this check 5 times
  • If the alarm and the stove are OFF, FireAvert will reset, allowing for cooking to continue.
  • Otherwise FireAvert will remain off, needing a normal reset

This allows for no interruptions to normal life and keeps your home extra safe with FireAvert.

If FireAvert doesn't automatically reset it means the stove was never switched into the off position, which tells us an unattended cooking fire was just prevented.

We can say with about 99% confidence that FireAvert prevented a fire if the stove doesn't automatically reset. With the over 700 units we tested this on over 2 months, we are happy to report FireAvert prevented over 50 fires.

FireAvert PRO is adding new AI systems to improve monitoring

AI Risk Assessments

We are super excited for this one! We are proud to announce FireAvert PRO now uses AI to understand fire risks.

We have been training this model to evaluate fire risks and it is already finding factors we hadn't realized. This new risk assessment will be found on the Dashboard home page. It will show individual fire risk for units from high to low.

This smart technology identifies areas to provide education or policies to improve fire safety.

Together with your help, and now, with the help of AI, we can STOP KITCHEN FIRES.

Remote Cooking Time Management

Another high risk factor for kitchen fires is long cooking times. With FireAvert PRO's new updates you can now manage how long people cook for.

In your dashboard, admins will be able to set a default or individual custom time limits for each unit. When that time limit is reached you and/or the resident will be notified about their increased fire risk.

This system is easy to manage so on heavy cooking days such as Thanksgiving or Christmas these alerts can be modified.

The more you understand about your tenants or your loved ones cooking habits, the better you can prevent fires.

FireAvert PRO Alert Customization

This is a smaller update to our PRO dashboard, but it gives property and home owners better data and more connectivity.

In your profile settings you can now customize each notification you would like to receive. This includes type of notification - email, text, etc... - as well as frequency of report messages.

With this new customization, you can tailor your PRO reporting and monitoring experience to your preferences.

More Updates to Come

We aren't done. FireAvert strives to continually improve. We want to develop fire prevention technology that seamlessly integrates into everyday life.

In our mission to do so we will continue to improve our systems. We are also forming relationships to integrate FireAvert with new systems for properties.

Stay tuned for more updates, we can't wait to share them!
