Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work with my smoke alarm?
Short Answer: Yes!
Long Answer: FireAvert was designed to listen for all residential smoke alarms. If you are concerned about compatibility with your exact setup look for a frequency of approximately 3.2kHz
Will the stove stick out from the wall?
Most stoves have an open back which allows the device to fit in that void space. If you have a unique stove or plug location our 'pigtail' extension cord will allow the stove to fit flush with the wall.
How do I reset the stove after it is shut off?
First you must turn all stove knobs back to the 'OFF' position.
Then, there are 4 main methods:
- Using the dashboard or text alerts, aka remote reset
- With the provided reset QR code
- By playing a sound byte from our support site
- Perform a hard reset by cutting power through the breaker box
How do I know which stove type I have?
If you have a gas stove, choose the gas variant.
For Electric stoves we need to determine prong type. Follow these steps to figure it out:
- Carefully pull stove away from the wall
- Look at the plug
- If the plug has three prongs (or metal pieces) you need the 3-prong variant, if it has four prongs get the 4-prong variant.
