Will it make residents stoves stick out?
The FireAvert Auto Stove Shutoff is designed to fit discreetly in the void space behind most stoves. However, if your outlet is located in an irregular position, you can use a pigtail extension cord. This pigtail extension provides flexibility to position the FireAvert as needed, allowing the stove to rest snugly against the wall.
Pigtail extension cords are available for both Electric 3-prong and Electric 4-prong configurations.
What is the difference between prevention and suppression?
Fire prevention works to stop fire and smoke damage before it happens. It eliminates the risk of a fire. FireAvert Auto Shutoff devices prevent fires by detecting the first signs of unattended cooking fires and cutting the heat source.
Fire suppression works to put out the fire once it's begun. It keeps tenants alive in the building, by stopping the damages before they grow out of hand.
Suppression is about saving lives, prevention saves lives and properties.
How does it detect smoke?
The Auto Shutoff Device listens for the sound of the smoke alarm sounding.
Food or items left on the stove will smoke for minutes before they ignite to flames.
It works with any residential smoke detector. If you have more questions look for a frequency of approximately 3.2kHz.
How does the leak detection work
Functionally, our leak detectors have two prongs that complete a circuit when water is present.
The detector does not make a noise to prevent tenants from removing them.
When water is detected you will receive a customizable alert and the PRO dashboard will show a work order for a leak detected.
Do FireAvert PRO devices require Wifi?
No, our FireAvert PRO products use a different connectivity type called LoRa.
PRO Monitoring uses a Cellular Gateway that connects the devices to your PRO Dashboard.
How do you reset the Auto Stove Shutoff?
Electric devices will automatically reset if the stove knobs are turned off.
Residents can reset via a QR code that plays a distinct reset noise.
Residents can reset by cutting the stove breaker.
You can also purchase a reboot button that resets the device for residents that struggle to play the sound.
